For nearly ten years, Lowertown St. Paul has been our home, our community, and the backdrop for every single pint we’ve poured. As we approach our 10-year milestone, we’re announcing a bittersweet and wildly exciting new chapter: Barrel Theory is packing up and relocating to the South St. Anthony Park neighborhood.

The New Location: Vandalia Tower

We’re heading about 5.5 miles west to Vandalia Tower, tucked right off I-94 in the heart of the Twin Cities. We’ll be joining an incredible lineup of local businesses, creative spaces, and makers in a neighborhood we’ve loved for years.

Why the Move?

In short: we’ve outgrown our original space. Moving to Vandalia Tower allows us to scale up our entire operation. In the new space, our brewing capacity will increase exponentially, which means more beer flowing through the taproom handles and more 4-packs hitting local liquor store shelves. Beyond the brewhouse, you can look forward to:

  • A significantly larger taproom built for community events and gatherings

  • A glorious outdoor patio for warm- and cool-weather sips

  • Endless opportunities for neighborly collaborations

  • An actual parking lot

What’s the Timeline?

Moving an entire production brewery takes some heavy lifting. We are slating our official Grand Opening at Vandalia Tower for this October. We’ll be sharing exact opening dates—and the final last call for Lowertown on our social media pages.

Raising a Glass to Lowertown

This neighborhood has been exceptionally good to us, and we aren’t slipping out the back door without a proper send-off. Spend your September with us in Lowertown as we raise a glass to the space that started it all.

Stay tuned for updates, keep an eye on our social channels for behind-the-scenes buildout peeks, and get ready to celebrate with us in South St. Anthony Park this fall. ✌️
